Accessible tours in Sicily from Catania, in a certified Sprinter

A wheelchair configuration and safe boarding via the ramps, to explore the island without barriers.

Certified by the Motor Vehicle Department for wheelchair transport

Traveling seated in your own wheelchair requires a vehicle certified for this type of transport.

The Italian Motor Vehicle Department issued this certification to our Sprinter, following the legal procedure.

Two access ramps and two anchoring tracks in the floor

The wheelchair goes up into the Sprinter along the two ramps, with the person seated.

Inside, it is positioned on the two floor tracks and stays anchored to them for the entire journey.

In the wheelchair or on a seat: 7 or 8 seats on board

The Sprinter can be set up in two ways, depending on how the wheelchair user travels.

  • In their own wheelchair: a two-seat bench is removed and 7 people travel on board, the wheelchair user included.

  • On a seat: the wheelchair goes in the luggage compartment and the Sprinter keeps all 8 seats.

Shore excursions with a family member in a wheelchair

When you disembark with a wheelchair user, not just any vehicle will do.

The Sprinter meets the family at the ports of eastern Sicily and takes them to Etna or Taormina.

The same tours of Sicily, for the whole group

Accessibility is an added service, not a separate trip: the destinations and itineraries are the same as on any private tour.

Family and friends share the same Sprinter and the same itinerary, from departure to return.

Common questions about accessible tours

How many wheelchairs can travel on board?

One per service: the Sprinter's certification covers a single wheelchair.

Why does the form ask how the wheelchair user will travel?

Because the Sprinter arrives ready: if needed, the bench is removed before the guests are picked up.
